Mish Mash March
March came in with a bit of a lionlike roar for me. Between unexpected veterinary visits and a personal art challenge or two its been hopping. The time change always stirs things up too. I hope that I will get more sleep and then I somehow continue on with cats whining and dogs stirring at the new time instead of the old (how do they know??)

I have been participating in the March meet the maker challenge https://www.marchmeetthemaker.com/
on instagram https://www.instagram.com/heathermurrayart/
which has been an fascinating process and personal reveal. Questions popped up for me daily-How personal shall I be? What photograph will appropriately encapsulate the prompt ?..I am acutely aware that once the information is online it has the potential to be everywhere. Nonetheless I have enjoyed sharing more about myself and have taken risks. It has allowed me to reflect on my own creative and otherwise journey .

Next week will be marked as the beginning of Spring ! Hurrah! Are you eager to see plants ,flowers and hear birds singing again..and Colour!? If you are in my part of the earth you know what I am talking about!
I will be collaborating with a local artist and friend Patty Waterfield https://www.pattiwaterfield.com/
for a one Month show in April in Owen Sound ..Both of us are drawn to wildlife and nature so we are exhibiting and selling a selection of affordable art /prints at Birgits Bakery and Cafe in Owen Sound , Ontario-opening the week of April 3rd /23

I also participated in a very cool challenge called "one week one hundred people " and managed to draw/sketch 100 portraits

within the 5 days allotted ! whew ! A few were from life and observational and others were drawn from reference pics.
I have also returned to creating a few mixed media paintings on canvas and wood panels. Some of you have been requesting these easy to hang pieces as opposed to works on paper which require framing. These new paintings are truly mixed up media with transformations of my older art collaged and painted into new pieces! (A true mish mash!) So far I am pleased with the results and the interesting textural qualities of these paintings .
I quietly listed a few yesterday and already two paintings have sold..! https://www.etsy.com/ca/shop/MaudstarrArt
I will be creating more over next few weeks ..I am on a roll!

Until next time ..Stay happy and positive and if you are so inclined ..Make a little art!! Cheers! Heather
